Farmer’s Market Coupons
The St. Martin Council on Aging currently has 60 slots available for seniors aged 60 and older who would like to receive a free supply of fruits and vegetables from a local fruit stand. Individuals must have forms completed by a case manager. Farmer’s Market coupons will then be mailed to their home address. Coupons can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables at any fruit stand that accepts them. Individuals who have already received forms must meet with a COA case manager to have them signed and stamped before receiving coupons. Coupons must be redeemed by September 30. Coupons are available only to seniors who reside in St. Martin Parish.

Help a senior stay warm this winter...
With temperatures dropping below freezing this weekend, many seniors in our parish will need a way to keep warm. Would you please consider donating one full-size blanket or one small portable heater to help our most vulnerable population?
All donations are tax deductible and may be dropped off at 391 Cannery Road, Breaux Bridge, until 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday. We will also pick up donations, if necessary. To donate or for more information, please contact Executive Director Shanese L. Lewis at (337) 332-3063.
Many, many thanks in advance for your abundant generosity and for #MakingEverydayABetterDay for the seniors of St. Martin Parish!
Senior Spotlight
Please help us to congratulate Mr. James Metoyer on a job well done!!! Mr. Metoyer, along with his cousin Johnathan Arceneaux, sat with Renee Allen, from KLFY TV-10, to discuss how he recently helped to rescue many people from his burning apartment building (Breaux Bridge, LA). What's shocking to some is that Mr. Metoyer uses a cane (and a walker at times) to assist with his mobility. However, upon realizing that the lives of his neighbors were at risk, he ran up and down seven flights of stairs, knocking on doors to warn others to get out of the building...without the use of his cane.
We applaud you, Mr. Metoyer, for being the awesome hero that you are. Thank you for your unselfish act of bravery!!!
